LAPYAHAN FESTIVAL QUEEN 2016
San Remigio is known to have the longest shoreline in Cebu province, which is highlighted in their annual festival, the "Lapyahan festival". Lapyahan is a cebuano word for shoreline. The festival is celebrated every 16th of May and in honor of their patron saint San Juan Nepumoceno.
The dance steps in the festival show things related to the sea: balud which means waves, kinhas which means gleaning for seashells during low tide, langoy which is swimming, hoyohoy which refers to sea breeze, and pasalamat which is to give thanksgiving to heavens for the bounty of the sea.
And in every festival one of the most awaited and exciting moment is the crowning of the next festival queen. I am proud to present to you my dear friend and the newly crowned

Now, let's get to know this pretty girl that really rocks!
She is Loise Verdalyn J. Lecciones, but sweetly called as Love (though I call her Loise) is 22 years old and was born on March 22, 1994. A graduate of Respiratory Therapy at Cebu Doctor's University. Currently she is working as an ESL teacher in my previous company, this is where I met her. She's very sweet and very serious at work hahaha. Did you know that she also bagged the title of Miss Bogo Tourism 2014.
Her likes:
About food? I like pizza, chicken pandan,chicken skin, desserts like mango float, leche flan and oh I love seafoods! When it comes to attitude? I don't have a specific description as long as the person is good to me then I am also good to him/her. Her dislikes: I dont like spicy food and coffee/mocha. With people? Ahmm, nothing specific. Same with other people's dislikes.
She actually did not have any intention to join the pageant because she doesn't want to feel pressured and she's scared to lose since she had already won a title but then her teachers encouraged her and she thought that this is one way that she could do in return to her Alma mater, the San Remigio National High School and she made them so proud!
Loise did not just win one nor two but five special awards! Miss Dela Rama Bakeshop, Miss Photogenic, Best in Production Number, Best in Solo Performance and Best in Group Dance Presentation. I couldn't be more proud of this lady.

How was the experience?
It was great, getting along with the girls, meeting new people, and seeing the happy and wild crowd made it an amazing experience.
How did you prepare for the pageant?
Prayer, Weekend rehearsals and of course one on one practice with my mentor/handler.
What is your most unforgettable experience during the pageant?
The pageant itself is an unforgettable experience, especially the moment i was crowned as Lapyahan Queen 2016.

Never miss an opportunity in life, because we never know it might be a starting point for you to shine. Just be yourself and be confident enough to show the world how beautiful you are inside and out.
